Termite is a London-based programme that brings together practitioners from technology, the natural and social sciences and the applied arts and asks them to invent something new.

Distinct from programmes that culminate in exhibitions or reports, Termite requires participants to turn ideas into durable artefacts capable of living beyond its walls: tools, protocols, movements, design systems, companies, funding mechanisms, governance models and other unforeseeable new forms.

We live in times of great urgency to invent tools and frameworks that ensure a future for human agency in a world increasingly run by machines and the elite class that owns them.

Termite provides the constraints, pressures and resources necessary for talented people to move beyond speculative practice and intervene directly in the systems that shape contemporary life.

Our goal is to produce new human-scale infrastructure built from a wider range of perspectives than those currently shaping technological change.
